An intimate, seven-day journey through Abruzzo’s coast, hills, and heart — where sea breezes, mountain light, and centuries-old traditions meet in one unforgettable Italian experience. Each day blends culture, cuisine, and connection, curated by local hosts and sommeliers who know every vineyard road and hidden piazza.

Day-by-Day Itinerary (May 16–22)

Day 1 — Saturday, May 16Arrival & Seaside Welcome

Morning/Afternoon:

Arrivals to the Pescara area. Check-in at the B&B in the elegant Pineta district — a serene enclave shaded by pines and steps from the Adriatic.

Evening:

Aperitivo at the B&B on the terrace (included), with local wines, cheeses, and charcuterie, followed by a Hosted Group Welcome Dinner (included) at a traditional osteria in the Pineta. Dinner will feature arrosticini and regional specialties, paired with four Abruzzo wines. A relaxed and elegant start to our Abruzzese journey.

Day 2 — Sunday, May 17Historic Trabocchi Coast, Basilica and Seafood Lunch

Morning:

  • Scenic drive along the Adriatic Sea to Fossacesia

  • Stop for coffee and photos at the Abbazia di San Giovanni in Venere

Afternoon:

  • Hosted Lunch at a renowned seafood restaurant in Punta Vallevò — a beloved stop for food lovers, visited by Stanley Tucci when filming the Abruzzo episode of his renowned TV series

  • Walk along the Costa dei Trabocchi and return to Pescara

Day 3 — Monday, May 18Olive Oil & Wine

Morning:

Start the day with breakfast and a walk along the Pineta Riviera, then head to Alanno to spend the rest of the day

Note: Pack an overnight bag—you’ll be spending the night at a beautiful historic estate

Afternoon:

  • Hosted Lunch in a panoramic hilltop trattoria in Alanno

  • Visit to a historic local boutique estate, known for its warm hospitality and beautifully crafted Abruzzo varietals. A relaxed and elegant experience, allowing guests to enjoy a single, memorable visit without feeling rushed

  • Guided tour of the oil mill and wine cellar

  • Tasting of three selected wines and extra virgin olive oil with rustic bread

Evening:
Evening at leisure and overnight at the estate’s boutique hotel

Day 4 — Tuesday, May 19Shopping in Pescara and Lunch in Francavilla

Morning:

  • Optional seaside stroll along Francavilla’s Riviera, on the striking Ponte del Mare, Italy’s longest pedestrian bridge, or relaxation at a private beach in Francavilla

Afternoon:

  • Hosted Lunch at a favorite seafood restaurant in Francavilla al Mare — raw and cooked seafood, spaghetti with clams, fritto misto, paired with Trebbiano or Pecorino wines

  • Afternoon shopping in Pescara’s historic center (Corso Umberto I and surrounding streets)

Day 5 — Wednesday, May 20L’Aquila and Castle of Rocca Calascio (or town of Sulmona)

Morning:

  • 8 a.m. departure to the Navelli Plain, famous for its saffron fields

  • Visit to Bominaco and the 13th-century Oratory of San Pellegrino, known as the Sistine Chapel of Abruzzo

  • Continue to L’Aquila, the regional capital

Afternoon:

  • Lunch at leisure in L’Aquila

  • Guided city tour including UNESCO-listed Basilica di Collemaggio (founded in 1288)

  • Return toward Pescara with one of the following stops (optional):

    • Sulmona, city of confetti and home of the historic Pelino factory (featured by Stanley Tucci)

    • The medieval fortress of Rocca Calascio, one of Italy’s most spectacular viewpoints

Evening:
Hosted Dinner at an elegant restaurant in Pineta or Pescara’s Marina Porto Turistico

Day 6 — Thursday, May 21Silvi, Wine Tasting & Atri

Morning:

  • Early departure to Atri - explore the Cathedral, Roman Theatre, and the old town

Afternoon:

  • Head to Silvi Marina with destination to Silvi Vecchia (Old Town)

  • Visit to a private wine tasting at a renowned noble family-run estate, friends of our journey’s coordinators. Estate established in the 14th-century. Light lunch included

Evening:

Farewell dinner at a renowned beach pizzeria

Day 7— Friday, May 22Arrivederci, Abruzzo

Morning: Breakfast and departure window. Coordination available on request for shared transfer to Pescara’s airport or train station.

  • Evenings alternate between hosted dinners and free time to explore independently.

  • Walking is gentle, with opportunities to rest or opt out of optional segments.

  • Attire: Smart-casual layers and comfortable walking shoes.

  • Weather: May is mild; a light jacket is recommended for evenings and hill towns.

  • Dietary needs: We happily accommodate with advance notice.

  • Small group promise: With only 8 travelers, our experiences remain intimate and unhurried.
